Baseball

Baseball at BRHLL blends quality competition in a recreational setting with competitive all-star tournaments after the regular season and league tournaments

Pre-season practices begin in early March. Games begin in April, with the regular season ending the last week in May or the first week in June. Depending on the division, BRHLL conducts a tournament during the first few weeks of June for our recreational teams.

Teams will play 12-14 games against other teams in our league and, at the Majors level, play several other games in the District 7 President's Cup against recreational teams from other leagues in the District.

Minors Baseball

Minor League Baseball programs for boys and girls are operated for younger players with less experience.  Although Minors is a level up from tee ball, the emphasis is still on fun, participation, fundamentals, and teamwork. The Minor League Machine Pitch Division may be players league ages 7-8-years-old. The diamond used is a 60-foot diamond, and the pitching distance is 46 feet. Tournament opportunities are available for players league-age 8-10.

AAA Baseball

AAA Player-Pitch Division is for boys and girls aged 9-10 years old. The diamond used is a 60-foot diamond and the pitching distance is 46 feet.  Tournament opportunities are available for players league-age 9-10.

Majors Baseball

The Little League Baseball Division (also known as the Major Division) is for boys and girls ages 11 -12. The diamond used is a 60-foot diamond and the pitching distance is 46 feet.

The local league has an option to choose a Tournament Team (or “All Stars”) of 10-12-year-olds from within this division, and the team may enter the International Tournament. The culmination of the International Tournament is the Little League Baseball World Series, featuring teams from around the world. All expenses for the teams advancing to the World Series (travel, meals and housing) are paid by Little League International.

Intermediates (50/70)

The Intermediate (50/70) Baseball Division is for 12- and 13-year-olds, utilizing a 50-foot pitching distance and 70-foot base paths. Games are played against other District 7 and District 8 teams.

The division offers a transition for players between the standard Little League field size (46-foot pitching distance and 60-foot base paths) and the Junior/Senior/Big League field size (60-foot, 6-inch pitching distance and 90-foot base paths). Many of the Junior League rules are used, such as: runners being permitted to lead off bases; runners may attempt to steal at any time; and allowing an on-deck batter. Intermediates typically begin play in May to accommodate Middle School seasons.

Juniors Baseball

The Junior League Baseball Division is a program for boys and girls ages 12-14, using a conventional 90-foot diamond with a pitching distance of 60 feet, 6 inches. Modified diamond dimensions may be used during the regular season. While Juniors registration is held concurrently with the younger ages, games don't start until after the Middle and High School seasons are complete to accommodate IHSAA rules. Teams will be formed late in April and announced early in May. Games are played against other District 7 and District 8 teams.

Senior Baseball

The Senior League Baseball Division is for boys and girls 13-16 years old, using a conventional 90-foot diamond with a pitching distance of 60 feet, 6 inches. Seniors registration is held concurrently with the younger ages, but games don't start until after the Middle and High School seasons are complete to accommodate IHSAA rules. Teams will be formed early in May and announced late in May. Seniors teams are often comprised of players from across the District who play other Districts' teams.
