Softball

BRHLL has a fun and competitive Softball Program for girls ages 7 to 16, with competitive all-star tournaments after the regular season and league tournaments. For softball, the age of your player is her age as of Dec 31 of the previous year. Age calculator here!

Pre-season practices begin in early March. Games begin in April, with the regular season ending the last week in May or the first week in June. Depending on the division, BRHLL conducts a tournament during the first few weeks of June for our recreational teams.

Teams will play 12-14 games against other teams in our league and, at the Majors level, play several other games in the District 7 President's Cup against recreational teams from other leagues in the District.

How to Register

Log in to (or create) your BRHLL account at the top right corner of this page, add your child as a player, and proceed with registering for one of the available programs. If no available programs appear, either registration for that program has closed or your child's league age does not fall in to one of our available programs. If you have questions or concerns, please contact [email protected].

Minors Softball (Ages 7-8)

Minor League Coach Pitch Division Softball is for participants 7-8 years old. The diamond has 60-foot base paths and a 35-foot pitching distance. At BRHLL Minors is an instructional league in which coaches pitch 11" softballs to batters underhand, and there is no stealing.

AAA Softball (Ages 9-10)

AAA Player Pitch Division Softball is for participants 9-10 years old. The diamond has 60-foot base paths and a 35-foot pitching distance. In AAA, players learn to pitch 11" softballs to a batter until an out is made, the player puts the ball in play and reaches base safely, or four balls are thrown to a batter.  After the fourth ball, the batter's coach pitches to complete the at bat.  Teams do keep score, and limited stealing is allowed.

Majors Softball (Ages 11-12)

The Majors division is for players ages 11-12. The field uses a 60-foot diamond and a 40 foot pitching distance.  Players pitch regulation 12" softballs and all Little League rules for fastpitch softball apply.

This division chooses a Tournament Team (or “All Stars”) of 11-to-12-year-olds within this division. The culmination of the International Tournament is the Girls Little League Softball World Series, featuring teams from around the world. All expenses for the teams advancing to the World Series (travel, meals, and housing) are paid by Little League International.
